Healthy Active Physical Program for Youth
SOAHAC - Healthy Active Physical Program for Youth (H.A.P.P.Y)
This program is offered to London, ON First Nation Youth currently between the ages of 8-15 years old. Our program is designed to encourage our youth to build self-esteem, self-reliance, skills and knowledge to grow their health, wellness and community successes. Three elements will be focused on in this afterschool program Physical Activity, Healthy Food Choices and Nutrition Education and a building of personal Wellness and Cultural knowledge.  Examples of some of the activities we will or have participated in are:

    1. Dance (Traditional, Hip Hop,etc)
    2. Various Levels of Sport Activity
    3. Cooking Classes
    4. Local Food Choices
    5. Label Reading
    6. Bullying
    7. Tobacco and Substance Abuse prevention
    8. Building Self-esteem
    9. Storytelling
    10. Medicine Walks
    11. Various Traditional Crafts
